The sink was purchased for a kitchen remodel. It is 16 gauge stainless steel and very high quality. The builders and plumber all remarked on how heavy the sink was before the install. Since putting it in and running water through it, the sink has passed the quiet test. There is little water noise when running water into it which shows it is coated and properly dampened. The sink is 10" deep leaving plenty of room to work and it keeps counter splash to a minimum. Though there are comments about it scratching, that has not been an issue up the this point.
