I ordered this item because I wanted to be able to grill, smoke, and adjust the height of the charcoal. The problem I'm having is that I cannot seem to get a temperature in the smoking chamber above 200 degrees, even when the temperature in the fire box is 450 degrees. I went through 3 1/2 bags of charcoal (tried both briquettes and lump hardwood) over a 12 hour period trying to smoke a brisket, but was still unable to get the smoking chamber to the 225 degree temperature I needed. All the vents were fully open. I have ordered firebricks to line the firebox with, and hope that will help. Does anyone have any ... Combination grill and smoker allows for multiple cooking options.
